Dr. Angela Ati Palangi earned her PhD in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto and brings extensive experience in psychological assessment and therapy for adults. She provides assessments for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) along with comprehensive psychological evaluations and treatment for adults. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Mindfulness-based therapies, blending these modalities to suit the unique needs of each client.


Dr. Palangi works with a range of mental health concerns, such as complex trauma, Depressive and Anxiety Disorders (e.g., Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias, and Social Anxiety Disorder), as well as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. She also works with clients experiencing self-esteem issues, family of origin challenges, relationship concerns, perfectionism, self-criticism, significant life transitions, grief, and loss.


Dr. Palangi adopts an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing a range of techniques to support clients in building self-awareness, emotional acceptance, and presence in their lives. She prioritizes a warm, collaborative, and empathetic therapeutic environment, working from a biopsychosocial perspective that considers the interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors in mental health. Dr. Palangi approaches each client with curiosity and a nonjudgmental attitude, honoring the uniqueness of their experiences and backgrounds to foster meaningful growth and positive shifts in thought and emotion.


Dr. Palangi completed her pre-doctoral residency at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where she conducted cognitive and personality assessments and provided therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also co-facilitated group therapy for adults and adolescents, including programs focused on mindfulness for complex mental health issues, and groups for managing depression and anxiety. Her previous training includes work at CAMH, Lakeridge Health Centre, and university counseling centers, as well as private practice, where she provided individual and group therapy for a variety of challenges, including Depression, Anxiety, trauma, psychosis, somatic complaints, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Personality Disorders. She also performed diagnostic, psychoeducational, and personality assessments to inform individualized treatment recommendations.



In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Palangi has supervised graduate students in psychotherapy and assessment and served as a course assistant in a CBT certification program. She is an active member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA).
